So Violet tried peas yesterday, to much greater success than the peaches. It was our turn to eat with the neighbors, and sweet K had fixed Violet her own tray full of bread pieces and peas. (Violet is not really that short, by the way, she was just flirting across the table by pretending to peek over the tray.) And the verdict is... she likes peas! They fit nicely in her hand, were fun to smush when she banged on the tray, and apparently weren't too offensive taste-wise. So score one for us. But learning to eat finger food also means that Violet is learning to get food all over herself. So while it may be less work during dinner since she can get her own food in her mouth, the aftermath means bathtime is about to become a nightly ritual. Score one for the kid.
